Time to move on!

You know it’s time to start looking for a new job when just the thought of going to work makes you angry. There have been so many changes lately where I work and I can’t say they’ve all been good.  I really don’t mind working  2-11 but I am really tired of having to work every weekend. Mr Halloween and the boys are home weekends and the rest of my family does all their get togethers then too and guess who has to miss them all because she has to work. For the longest time my days off were Tuesday and Wednesday and I was able to plan things for those days but recently the’ve began messing with my schedule and I never know what days I will have off, but rest asssured it will not be Saturday or Sunday. Mr Knowledge gets so disappointed because I have to miss his football games due to work. But thats the trouble with retail. You have to live your life around them because they must come first. Well I beieve it’s time for my life to come first, I’ve lived their life for 9 yrs now it’s time to live mine.

Now that I’ve bored you with my ranting it’s time to move on to some knitterly news(spell checker is gonna hate that one). I’ve been knitting a beanie for my brother for christmas and I finished it this morning. 1x1 ribbed beanieI used one skein of Cleckheaton Country 8ply Naturals in a Navy tweed. It’s a machine washable wool/acrylic blend, which is good because I know my brother is not going to take the time to hand wash  anything. would you if you were a 30 yrd old unmarried guy who is always on the go.

Still waiting on from one of my two test knitters for my fingerless mitts. Thanks to Kattie and Ally B for volunteering to knit them for me. I appreciate their help so I can make a better pattern to share with you. Here’s Ally’s mittsAlly's rippled Mitts She did a great job and they turned out nicely.

I’ve already got another pattern idea. I have to work things out first then I’ll try knitting it before I give you a sneak peak at it.

Guess what:) my good friend Donnely has loaned me a computer and I can share my pictures again. YEAH- I am excited. I ‘ve been able to get my projects uploaded to Ravelry and hope to add many more. I still can’t add my printer so I am not sure if there is something wrong with the software or it’s just not compatible with these older computers because it worked fine with my old pc. But anyway be warned you guys will get sick of seeing all my photos now that I’m able to add them again. HEE HEE.

Ok now I’m off I have a sock to knit but I thought I’d leave ya with the view from my back door.backyard view Yeah I know it’s not very exciting but it’s the only veiw I have.

Happy knitting and Have nice day.

Bummed

It seems I will not be getting my computer back because it is just to far gone to be fixed. This really stinks because it means I am stuck with this back-up. It loads at a snails pace, I can use my camera with it and I can’t hook the printer and scanner to it because it just doesn’t haven’t enough memory for it. I guess I am destined to be without a good computer for now. I have so many pictures I wanted to share. I managed to finish my Thuja socks. But I just can’t show ya.

In other news I went today with my friends Donnely and Kathie to help them set up their booths for Hookahville

Everything went without a hitch in sgetting this organized. we left Donnely

camper thereand rode home in Kathie’s jeep. That’s where things went

wrong. We ran out of gas and had to call Katie’s Dh to come rescue us.Kathie swore up and down it was just yesterday that she put gas in it.She appologiezed several times for it happening. It was no big deal. I mean it has happened to all of us at one time, I’m sure. Anyway what was funny was the fact that she kept saying I know it was yesterday I put gas in it.

The Conversation went like this.

Kathie: I know it was only yesterday I put gas in. I am sorry guys.

Donnely, Tomi and Jen: Don’t be sorry it’s no big deal.

Kathie: I’ll check the mileage. I wrote it down after I put gas in. Wow I drove 119 miles- since yesterday? That can’t be right I only drove around town.

Donnely- You have to be out of gas. I hope that is all that is wrong.

Jen- yea if it’s out of gas that’s an easy fix.

Kathie- I’m sure it was yesterday. I’ll check my receipt.(ruffling of paper while she finds it). Yea guys see it says the 26th.

Donnely, Tomi and Jen: Laughing to the point of rolling on the floor.

Jen: Kathie that was 3 days ago.

Ya gotta love her. She is so scatterbrained she loses track of time. But I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. She keeps our friendship very interesting.  He hubby rescued us laughing at her the whole time.

A little Rant

Back in April I joinned a stitch marker swap. I received my partners name and then went to work making my stitch markers. I mailed them out and guess what 3 weeks later the package arrived empty. Someone else got my markers and my partner got an empty package. So I went to work making another set and the mailed them out at the same time I mailed out my Knitters Treat swap package. The Knitters Treat package arrived two weeks later but the Stitch markers that I mailed out one month ago have yet to arrive. Now my partner from that swap doesn’t believe that I actually mailed them out and has reported me to the swap hostess. So I have once again (for the third time) set to work on another set of markers and dropped them in the mail today. I have no idea what has happened to the last set but I honestly did mail them. I have no control over the U.S Postal system but it sure seems that they really don’t like me.And now they may have caused me to be put on a bad swappers list of course I have not actually heard from the swap hostess so I don’t know for sure that is the case. But this does upset me because I always do my best to keep up with my swaps and if I am not able to do so I always let the hostess know. What’s a girl to do when the Postal system doesn’t cooperate.
